Modernist T-Shirts

Modernist T-shirts are a new and fresh t-shirt label. We call Melbourne, Australia home. The label printed its first batch of tee’s in October 2009 and has since grown to become a highly sought after and trustworthy brand. All tee’s are designed and printed locally in Melbourne. All designs are limited to 100 prints.

We take pride in the products that we produce, giving you the confidence you will receive the highest quality printed tee’s that you deserve! All the designs are screen printed by hand using high quality water based inks giving them a sleek and breathable finish. Our tee’s are carefully selected from the AS Colour range who design fashion forward blank tee’s specifically for screen printing. The tee’s are made from high quality, 150gsm cotton and are pre-shrunk. The AS Colour tees range is accredited by WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production). The ensures the workers/factories putting the garments together are not using sweatshop labour.

All designs are created by Modernist’s founder, Stevie Hendry, and are drawn from everyday objects and shapes and are strongly influenced by music, particularly the mod and 60’s scene. The brand name Modernist is taken from the early name given to Mods in the late 50’s, early 60’s, who were a breakaway from the Jazz Beatniks. Modernists were strong followers in evolving fashion and music trends.
